Painting with Oils 101

Date and time: Sunday 22 February 2026, 11:30-12:30

TUTOR: @Petar Knezović

CONTENT: In his workshop, Petar will show us the intricacies of painting miniatures using oil paints.

LANGUAGE: Croatian and English

ABOUT THE TUTOR: PETAR KNEZOVIĆ – He entered the world of miniatures, like most people, through Warhammer in the sixth grade of elementary school. After the temporary collapse of the wargaming scene in Croatia, he began to focus on painting miniatures instead of playing. His goal became to win medals in painting competitions, which he succeeded in. When he felt that he was skilled enough, he began to offer miniature painting services for others, and for two years now, together with his brother, he has been running a business providing such services. He always tried to paint as quickly as possible so that he could bring as many ideas from his head to reality as possible. For this purpose, he began to paint primarily with oil paints, which he believes are a tool that all miniaturists should become familiar with.

BACK TO BASICS WORKSHOPS FOR KIDS!

During the Black Queen 2026 international painting competition, we will also organize Back to Basics miniature painting workshops for the youngest (8+).
FREE ENTRY!
During the weekend of February 21-22, we will organize workshops on:
- Saturday 21.2. from 13-17h
- Sunday 22.2. from 10-15h

The workshops are suitable for the youngest users because only basic techniques, tools and materials are used, and it allows easier access to miniaturism and model making by focusing on the fun process of making, unlike the usual insistence on waiting for the end result, which most often brings stress to younger participants. In each session, up to four participants will be able to paint their own figure (which they then take home).
