Stormcast Sequitor with a dog
The figure was painted with acrylic paints. Over the white primer, several gray glazes were first applied to the areas that represent the fabric. When that messy part of the job was done, the armour was painted black and the edge highlighted with a few coats of gradually lighter gray. Then the gold ornaments on the armor were basecoated and shaded. Details and final highlights on gold and fabric were done at the end.
The left armor on the shoulder was blank and smoothe, without the any raised or engraved details, so I put a lightning symbol on it. I first applied a decal, which I then overbrushed using acrylic paints. If you need to work on identical symbols on a series of figures, this is the perfect way to achieve that. The decal itself looks like a decal, and on the other hand, repeated manual drawing of symbols of identical shape and size can take too long.
The dog figure was added later. In order for the animal to stand on the base, I had to cut it in half, shorten and bend it, and re-model part of the abdomen. The appearance is based on the Belgian Shepherd breed, and photographs were used as a reference when painting.
