Agram Group Build Project #1 (part 5)
In this series of articles, we will follow our Goran, Kruno and Marko in the making of a diorama set in New York / Gotham in the mid-1980s. Diorama is being built as part of a new UMS "Agram" project called Agram Group Build, which was created after the trio discussed joint projects to be done on Wednesdays and how cool it would be to gather more people to work on something together… This gave birth to the idea of Group Builds... The idea is for everyone to do something on each of these three projects - the main rule (except that there are no rules) is not to mess with other people's work. That we all participate and make some kind of Frankenstein monster ...
MARKO: For homework I had to prepare blueprints for window negatives so we could make moulds. I worked out the idea quite a bit considering that, like last time, this Wednesday I was busy running the Workshop for making spatial models, so I wanted to contribute at least in this indirect way. The idea is to make one negative for each type of window. We then make a mould from Siligum and pour identical window negatives from plaster which we later coat with PVA glue to make it rubbery enough that the final wall casting can come out of the mould.
KRUNO: Today’s work on the group build was pretty lonely… no one joined me. I’m starting to wonder if the problem is in me… Basically, after the initial lemonade and setting up the workspace for the workshop, I took on the task of making window negatives for the moulds. Marko made the blueprints, and I drew and cut out the parts on balsa. I used slats 2 and 5 mm thick. I tried to be precise, so I cut the balm with multiple light strokes. I cut out several pieces and then measured the best specimens by measuring them and glued them with Drvofix.
After that, I finished the plastic containers and assembled a couple more gas bottles for the diorama. Of course I had the same glue problems as before and used Domagoj's "apparatus for unclogging the glue in tube".
P.S. Marko says that I screwed up one negative, but that's because I want him to participate with something to make him feel a part of # project1.
DOMAGOJ: I was fed up with Marko and Kruno's constant complaining about the Apparatus-for-unclogging-glue-in-a-tube, so I donated one.
GORAN: As Kruno mentioned, he was lonely, so towards the end he got bored and had fun with pyrotechnics. At least that's what they tell me because I was busy running around Jarun. I hereby invite all the fly honeys to join me on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 6pm to 7pm.
Feel free to contact us here if you are interested! We are every Wednesday from 8 pm to 10 pm in KD ZZTK on Trg žrtava fašizma 14.
