Frosty the Pimp
As part of our Advent in Agram program, in the first demonstration workshop in December, we made a snowman. This article briefly follows the making of that figure.
We made a snowman in three segments from DAS clay. In addition to clay, we used pebbles as eyes (2 smaller ones) and buttons (3 larger ones). We cut the nose (or carrot) out of balsa/wooden slat/styrene - shaped the carrot with a scalpel and cut to the desired length. We made the hands from two twigs.
The final detail was the use of a GW hat.
When everything was dry, we painted the whole snowman white.
Then we drew the buttons, hands, hat and eyes in black, the carrot/nose in orange, while the feather on the hat was drawn in a transition from orange to red to purple. Finally, we shaded the hat with dark gray.
The last step was mixing the snow mixture from Ammo by Mig Jimenez. We used Wet Snow, Snow Binder (basically PVA glue) and gloss varnish.
And that’s it.
