Krieger Bust – Adding Snow and Icicles
In this article, I will describe the process of adding snow and icicles to a bust and on a piece of terrain that goes behind the bust. The bust was printed by DiyConnect in quality resin for the weekend Miniature Painting Workshop held in May, and this paintjob is what I painted while I was teaching. You can read more about the Workshop here.
After the workshop, I decided to finish the piece and add a wall behind the Krieger and "place" the bust in the winter. For this I used Noch products: Icicles, Snowflakes and Ice Crystals.
First I added icicles to the bust. Noch Icicles are a product that comes in a tube and is squeezed out in thin "worms". In this way, the icicles can be formed relatively easily. When squeezed out of the tube, the worms are dull white in color, but when dried they are transparent and shiny like ice.
Then I added Icicles to the wall, but also Ice Crystals in some places, which are actually a paste that behaves similarly to Icicles.
When everything was dry, I added snow in the form of Noch Snowflakes. It is an interesting product because, unlike the usual snow products, this one also has shiny crystals in it, which gives an interesting effect. I put it in several layers.
In the end everything was placed in its place on the plinth.
